Life in the Law Centre June
Things are as busy as ever for the staff and solicitors in our team. As we enter the summer months, we are looking forward to a bit of sunshine and helping as many people as possible.
Simon Smith, our new solicitor, is settling in well and we can now see more new clients because he has joined us.
As the new Adult Disability Payment rolls out in Dundee, many people are turning to us for advice and guidance on the new system. This is new to everyone but existing clients can get in touch if they are unsure on how the new benefit will affect them. The application form is very different from the previous Personal Independence Payment as we can assist with that also. Get in touch for more information. It can take up to 4 months for PIP claims to be transferred across and you should receive a letter from Social Security Scotland in due course, explaining what will happen.
The weekly sessions in Kirkton and Whitfield continue to be popular and must be booked in advance. We are also restarting sessions at Menzieshill Community Centre from 2-4pm from Wednesday 15 June 2022. Alternatively, we can see clients in our office at 163 Albert Street. Our Immigration Law Clinic is also up and running. Contact us to arrange an appointment.
If you are a current client and need an update on your case, or have some further information for us, contact the Case Management Team on 01382 918227. If you are not an existing client but need to see a solicitor or want to find out if Dundee Law Centre can help you, contact Reception on 01382 918230, email enquiries@dundeelaw.org or complete the form on our website.’
